Royal Carnival in Downtown Prescott

September 29th, the Royal Carnival will take over downtown Prescott Valley. SMOKI Exhibit

The Smoki Museum added a special new exhibit showing 18 gouache renderings of sand paintings given by Jeff King, a Navajo medicine man. The sand paintings describe the Navajo creation story and were used in a ceremony for departing warriors. They were initially displayed at the National Gallery of Art in 1943.
